Ball Establishes Wrekin Hill

Los Angeles, CA (September 30, 2010) – Nigel Sinclair, CEO and Co-Chairman of Exclusive Media Group (“Exclusive”) , and Chris Ball, Co-Chairman of Exclusive and President and Co-Founder of Newmarket Films (“Newmarket”), jointly announced today that Ball will be leaving Exclusive to establish Wrekin Hill Entertainment (“Wrekin Hill”), a newly formed and independently financed production and distribution company. Joining Ball at Wrekin Hill will be long time Newmarket colleagues Rene Cogan (COO-Chief Financial Officer) and John Crye (President of Production and Acquisitions).

The new company will release films under the Wrekin Hill label and has also licensed the Newmarket Films label for use on a non-exclusive basis.

Newmarket and Wrekin Hill will also be jointly releasing select upcoming titles from Exclusive, including the Exclusive label’s maiden production Peter Weir’s The Way Back starring Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess, Saoirse Ronan, Mark Strong and Colin Farrell, and the Spitfire Pictures produced Billy Joel rock documentary The Last Play at Shea and the Newmarket Sundance acquisition Hesher, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt, Natalie Portman and Rainn Wilson. Additional coventures with Exclusive are in the works.
