The territories acquired by Exclusive Media include Germany, France, Japan, Benelux, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Greece, Iceland, Portugal, Turkey, Israel, Middle East, China, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.   Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) is handling all media rights for Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, Russia as previously announced and Momentum Pictures has acquired UK and Ireland.  SPWA and Samuel Goldwyn Films jointly acquired North American rights and are partnering on the U.S. theatrical release.

Walton, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Exclusive Media with the filmmakers, will unveil the film for sales at the upcoming European Film Market where the film will screen for buyers.

On completion of the deal Walton said, “Beyond the amazing performances this is a film that completely connects with its audience.  It’s the ultimate crowd pleaser with a huge word of mouth following already.  It started at a blustery Sundance but is snowballing from there to Paris, Rome, Berlin and beyond.”

Set in the near future, Frank Weld (Langella), an aging dad and a retired jewel thief, lives a solitary life until his son (Marsden) installs a caretaker robot to look after him.  Unnerved by its alien presence, Frank is not pleased with his new helper.  But the robot quickly proves itself to be more than a machine or appliance – it becomes a friend. The robot’s stringent requirements to increase the healthiness of Frank’s diet and exercise gradually succeed at improving the old man’s overall well-being, and suddenly Frank has found a new lease of life.  With the help of his unsuspecting friend, Frank attempts to woo a local librarian (Sarandon) and resumes the criminal escapades of his past…and a new heist duo is born.

ROBOT & FRANK is directed by first time filmmaker Jake Schreier, written by Christopher Ford (TVs "Atom TV"), and produced by Galt Niederhoffer, Sam Bisbee, Jackie Kelman Bisbee and Lance Acord.  ROBOT & FRANK is Park Pictures Features’ first film.  The film was produced in association with White Hat Entertainment and Dog Run Pictures.  Park Pictures Features is represented by John Sloss and Marc Simon.
